There are several reasons to stream audio data over the Internet.

• On one hand you are using the tools for an usual Internet radio station. Usual Internet users can receive the stream - no big transmitters are needed. Only a few components are enough: A bit of audio equipment and a computer and an Internet uplink. Here a lot can be done with a usual notebook and a microphone. Just the number of listeners remains usually quite small if you do not make a periodic program and good advertising
• On the other hand radio streaming gives a valuable tool for transmitting s.th. to a real radio studio and allow with this the transmission of audio from an external place (e.g. a concert) to a studio which sends then out the audio into the real radio world. Also here only very few parts and a little knowledge is necessary.
• Also RadioStreaming gave us a lot of fun. It is nice to play around with new techniques and to find out how easy it could be - also RadioStreaming is about working together in different places - especially the live situations have the spirit to encourage further learning and experiments with this media techniques.
